App Overview
Sighted is a real-time planetary sighting and alert app for UFO/UAP, meteors, and unexplained phenomena. It includes user-generated content (photos, videos, posts, stories), live streaming, real-time chat, emergency warnings, news, and a global leaderboard.

This app is rated for users aged 18 and older due to the nature of its content and features.

Content Moderation
On-Device Moderation
Content moderation is powered by the Apple Vision framework — no user data is sent to external servers for filtering.
- Image scanning detects nudity, explicit content, gore, weapons, and drug paraphernalia at a 70% confidence threshold
- Text filtering blocks hate speech, slurs, threats, spam, and explicit language using pattern matching
- User reporting system with categories: inappropriate content, spam, misinformation, and harassment
- Admin moderation tools for flagging and removing content
Age Verification
A minimum age of 16 is required to create an account (date of birth required at signup).
A minimum age of 18 is required to access live streaming, enforced through a three-layer verification system:
- Apple Declared Age Range API (iOS 26+)
- On-device facial age estimation using MiVOLO v2 neural network with liveness detection (blink, smile, head movements)
- Date of birth verification via stored user data
Users who do not pass verification are blocked from broadcasting.
Privacy
On-Device Processing
All content moderation and age estimation run entirely on-device. No images or personal data are sent to external servers for filtering or verification.
